cHub004 – Help me, I Can’t Seem To Find My Purpose

If you know you had only 12 months to live, what would you do and how would you want to be remembered? More specifically, what are the three things you want people to say about you at your funeral? Most people, don’t have an answer; I think its time we change that starting today…

Today’s episode is called: Help Me, I Can’t Seem to Find My Purpose!!

“…When people feel like they have no sense of direction, no purpose in their life, it’s because they don’t know what’s important to them, they don’t know what their values are. And when you don’t know what your values are, then you’re essentially taking on other people’s values and living other people’s priorities instead of your own. This is a one-way ticket to unhealthy relationships and eventual misery…” Taken from <https://markmanson.net/life-purpose>

If you are anything like ME, you’ve heard for years “You Need to Find Your Purpose or Passion”, but never knew what that purpose or passion was; Let me offer a few thoughts to put you on the path to your destiny. I provide a brief summary below, but you must listen to the podcast for the explanations and details.

To help you find your purpose I ask you to think about:

  1. What brings you passion? What do you enjoy doing? First let me explain what passion really is:
    1. Passion taken from [https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/passion] – “a strong liking or desire for or devotion to some activity, object, or concept”
    1. Understand Passion is an ‘emotion’, not a thing
  2. What was the last thing you did that made you completely lose track of time?
  3. What would you do if MONEY was not an issue?
  4. Opposite– What are you NOT doing:
    1. Because someone told you it was a sign of irresponsibility?
    1. Because someone told you it was stupid and you needed to get a REAL JOB
  5. If you had a Super Power to change/fix anything in this world, what would you do?
    1. This is usually a sign of something that is near and dear to your heart.
  6. What frustrates/Angers/Annoys you?
    1. Sometimes the thing(s) that frustrate you are the things you’re called to have an impact on
  7. What are you Jealous of?
    1. Know the difference between jealousy and envy
    1. Jealously can be a STRONG indicate of what you’re connected to and should be pursuing.
  8. When all else fails, Follow Your Curiosity
    1. Be a Hummingbird not a Woodpecker (listen to audio)
    1. Be open to your purpose evolving as YOU evolve.
    1. Understand your purpose/gift can be more than just ONE thing!

Remember to Live, Love and don’t forget to Laugh…

cHub003 – For The Love of Maya Angelou – My Favorite Quotes

Wassup everybody? This is Jeff Robinson and welcome to The Cultivation Hub, a new show where our intentions are to ‘Add Value’ through Education and Inspiration, while having some fun along the way. I believe that every human being has great potential and we want to be the resource that gets you there. So welcome to the family, let’s take this journey together.

Listen to this clip from Dr.Maya Angelou, taken from Oprah’s Masterclass.

This Episode pulls out some of my favorite Maya Angelou quotes and the impact they have had on my life.

  1. When People show You Who They Are Believe Them, the first time
  2. I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel”
  3. Never make someone a priority, when all you are to them is an Option”
  4. When you Learn, Teach, when you Get, Give”
  5. Try to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud
  6. I do not trust people who don’t love themselves and yet tell me, ‘I love you.’ There is an African saying which is: Be careful when a naked person offers you a shirt
  7. “We sometimes think that we can be better than another person. The truth is no human being could be more human than another human being. You can be younger and prettier and finer and richer, but you can’t be more human.”- Dr.Maya Angelou – I Am Human, I am a Human, NOTHING HUMAN can be alien to ME
  8. When you know you are of worth, you don’t have to raise your voice, you don’t have to become rude, you don’t have to become vulgar; you just are. And you are like the sky is, as the air is, the same way water is wet. It doesn’t have to protest.

“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” – Maya Angelou

We all have days when we’re feeling a little”cloudy.” It’s worth remembering that you have the power to brighten someone else’s gloomy day with an act of kindness — a helpful gesture, an encouraging word, or maybe even just a smile. Who knows? Maybe the next time you have a cloudy day, you’ll find a “rainbow” of your own.

cHub002 – 8 Ways To Live A Life with NO REGRETS

There is no greater pain than the pain of Regret! Regret can cause you to stay locked in your homes, cause you to never love again, never laugh again, and in the case of Dr. Maya Angelou, never speak again. It’s time we learn how to Live a Life with NO REGRETS…let’s take this journey together…

Today’s episode is: “8 Ways To Live A Life with NO REGRETS”

There are so many people living in such misery because of mistakes made, or things that may have happened to them or maybe they got that way as a result of a circumstance they had no control over. I mentioned in the opening that Dr. Maya Angelou once lived in regret, yeah can you believe that? One of the greatest poet, and writers in the world was once in bondage over regret to the point she did not speak.

[The Story of what happened with Dr. Maya Angelou – http://www.achievement.org/achiever/maya-angelou/]

I wanted to share 8 ways, I believe you can live a life with NO REGRETS

#1 – Follow your gut Instincts – I think one of the biggest reasons many people are living with regret is because they failed to follow their instincts. You know that ‘thing’ or feeling you have about a person, place or thing? That pull at your entire being that says “Hmmm, I’m not sure this is a good decision”. There are people right now who have shut themselves out from other people and society in general because regret that could have been avoided had they followed their instincts.

#2 – Follow your Dreams –

#3 – Learn the power of NO –

#4 – Don’t take life so seriously

#5 – Be True to Yourself – When we deny any part of our authentic self, we die a little death on the inside. Our uniqueness makes us who we are. By being true to ourselves, we also give everyone else permission to do the same

#6 – Be Adaptable – How many times have we missed opportunities because we were adamant that OUR WAY was the only way. When you tried someone several times and it doesn’t work, or you’re not getting the full end result you envisioned, then be adaptable and take a difference approach. Keep changing your approach until your desired outcome is realized.

#7 – Practice Forgiveness –

#8 – “Leave Nothing Unsaid” –
